It’s a common occurrence in many companies where the CEO is really the one calling the shots on all things product.

But if you think this phenomenon is limited to small companies, take solace in knowing that it happens in companies as large as Apple. I can almost see the shock and surprise on your face!

As reported in the 8/25/09 Wall Street Journal, Steve Jobs is as far down in the weeds as as any product manager can go managing every detail on a new tablet PC that’s been under development for some time now. Apparently, he's been just as involved on the iPhone and other Apple products.  Read the article.
